Miriam Young, Project Manager, Taproot Foundation

Since it opened 10 years ago, Taproot Foundation has managed hundreds of pro bono engagements between teams of business professionals and nonprofits across the country. In this half day workshop, participants will delve into Taproot’s “top ten list” of key factors that make a project successful. To review these basic project management principles, participants will walk through examples of how to properly scope a project, define roles and responsibilities, and set a manageable timeline. This session is perfect for anyone that is interested in learning more about the nuts and bolts of managing pro bono engagements or honing their project management skills in general.

Speaker Bio

Miriam first came to Taproot Foundation in 2008 as an AmeriCorps volunteer and then went on to work for The Rotary Foundation as a Humanitarian Grant Coordinator, managing over 500 grants in francophone Africa. Miriam ultimately returned to Taproot Foundation in December 2010 as a Program Associate, providing support to nonprofits throughout the application process. In October 2011, Miriam was promoted to Program Manager and now oversees a portfolio of 40 Service Grants.
